Monsal Head, when I used to work in our office at Great Hucklow I drove past Monsal Head most days and I am cross that on a Summer evening I didn’t pull up and spend a few moments enjoying the amazing views. Looking over Monsal Dale and down to the impressive viaduct below watching the people cycling and walking up and down the Monsal Trail, like little ants.
Well having a little more time I do visit, not regularly but often enough to make the most of it. In fact I met my brother and we did a 12 mile walk around the Dale and surrounding hills and of course ended up at Monsal Head for our packed lunch.
It was a lovely moment as not only have I not seen my brother for a while due to restrictions but that this is our mums favourite spot to visit when she is in the Peak District, well part from visiting us at the farm!
Anyway, this place is quite special and would advise if you can take a visit.
It can be busy so parking can be difficult so advised to go midweek if possible.
