Well preserved mine and a great spot to eat your picnic!
I visited here when I was at junior school whilst living in Sheffield, it was a school trip and we were staying at Thornbridge Hall, before it was sold to a privately owned family. Had some fun times on that trip and one of the best was visiting Magpie Mine. At the time I thought it was a fantastic place to explore and to this day I still do.
When walking in the area I often make sure I include a detour past here and I love eating my lunch here. Sat by the old buildings imaging what it would have been like when it was a working mine.
There is a lot of history to this place and more can be found here.
